I was so happy to find this tomato knife on Amazon. I had inherited an old, circa 1940's, tomato slicer from my aunt. Several years of use and repeated washings and the knife eventually gave up. The wood handle completely rotted away. This replacement knife is far superior, being one piece stainless steel. Slices tomatoes beautifully, the slices never stick to the blade. I am sure I will have it around to leave to my grandchildren as my aunt left the original to me.

Works very well. Slices thin and blade serves as tray for the slice. this knife work well with medium an large tomatoes but not with small 2 to 3 inch diameter tomatoes. I ordered the Rada Cutlery Tomato Slicer Knife which I like even better. It work well with any size tomato but is especially useful with small or even cherry tomatoes.

It is the best tomato knife I have ever used. It slices the tomatoes cleanly without pushing them down, even when the skins a little tough. I had purchased one a few years ago and my mother liked it so well I gave it to her. I purchased two when I replaced it so I would have a spare.

Used this implement at a friend's house and knew I had to have one! Don't know how it works, but this knife produces perfect, uniform tomato slices with very little pressure and no tearing of the peeling. The slices are the same width at top and bottom, and the knife can also be used for slicing other soft/semi-soft fruits and veggies. Well worth the price - buy one for you and one for a gift and get free shipping!
