MMMMMM, good!
It is one of those elusive finds: A decent commercial vegetable broth. Most tend to be bland, sweet, or taste metallic. Plus most are very high sodium. Marigold Swiss Vegetable Bouillon power is a stand-out exception. This is good enough to make a cup to sip on. It is flavorful without being too strong. It does not have any medicinal flavor, and is not sweet. It just tastes like a good vegetable broth. It is a light color. Of course it is not clear, coming from a powder, so don't expect that. The sodium level is roughly 500 mg per 'serving'. I would still love to find a bouillon that is actually 'low sodium' and not merely 'reduced sodium'. But overall, this is a keeper.

Delicious and slightly herby
This is my favorite bouillon, and I am surprised at its strength!I was having troubles digesting Rapunzel bouillon cubes, which used to be my favorite... better than bouillon was great, but didn't have the rounded flavor....This Marigold stuff is definitely the best, and has a very nice background of herbs and spices that makes it truly delicious. I found reference to it in the Plenty cookbook. Reading the label, I am surprised that they include nutmeg and lovage.. it really is a nice blend for all my vegan soups, even my Thai basil coconut soup. The only think you should know if you are worried about salt is that it has 459 mg per serving (4.5g), and it does pack a punch. Flavor-wise, you really get a nice kick with this stuff, so you don't need to much, but it is savory and salty, so just be aware.

I love, love this reduced salt bouillon
I love, love this reduced salt bouillon. I drink it almost daily as a light soup, winter and summer and use it as a stock base on other soups and stews. I'm so glad it is available on line as friends from UK were getting tired of bringing it to me in their suitcases.

This is it!
My quest for a good vegetarian bouillon has ended! The bouillon smells great and I love that it is in powder form! It does give a nice taste to my soups and I will (finally!) no longer make vegetable stock from scratch. As an FYI, this is the brand of bouillon that several Bristish cookbooks refer to, like The Rose Bakery Cookbook or Ottolenghi.

natural MSG
Unfortunately, for me, Marigold bouillon powders aren't 'clean'. Hydrolised Vegetable Protein is seen by the body, at least mine, the same as MSG. If you google this phrase, maybe spelling hydrolised as "Hydrolyzed" you'll find the many ways that msg makes it way into the American diet.[...][...]I really wanted to be able to depend upon this product, the people associated with are very nice!

Really good bouillon. Yeast free too!
Really delicious vegetarian bouillon, low sodium and yeast free! This is the only yeast free bouillon I have been able to find. I add this to many different dishes and it adds wonderful savory flavor. Marigold also makes a regular sodium variety too which Amazon also sells.

Good product
I like this, especially because of the reduced salt content. We eat a lot of vegetarian food and also have many vegetarian and vegan friends so this product is ideal as a flavor boost without having to rely excessively on salt.

Only one of the containers was broken open but things like that can happen
I first bought some of this when visiting my daughter and her family on the Isle of Man in 2010. I nursed that container using as little as possible in order to make it last. Imagine my surprise when I found it on Amazon. What a day that was. I put my order in and got my bouillon in short order. Only one of the containers was broken open but things like that can happen. At least now I can sit every evening with my hot drink. Thank you Amazon for carrying this product.

Marigold Swiss Vegetable Vegan Bouillon Powder Reduced Salt 150 g (Pack of.6)
Buying 6 of these on the subscribe and save was much cheaper than in the health food shop or supermarket. I usually buy the normal one of these which has salt in it. However it also has milk products in it which makes it unsuitable for visiting vegans. The organic one is vegan and so is this reduced salt one. I would have bought the organic one but it was not available on the subscribe and save.It is useful to use as an addition to soups, stews etc and also as a nice hot drink if you don't fancy tea or coffee and would rather have a savoury drink. There are only 10 calories in a cup and is good if you are on a diet because it makes your tummy feel full. It is like a very light soup and very quick and easy to make. I am finding that I have to put in a little more of the powder with the reduced salt version because it seems a little weaker to me but I think that is the lack of salt and it will become more familiar in time and I'm sure it is better health-wise.

so I feel like it's good for me
This is delicious stuff and I put it in everything! It contains a bit of turmeric, so I feel like it's good for me, plus having a great stock I think encourages you to eat more vegetables!!One of the reviews was concerned with the ingredient HVP, which is sometimes linked to MSG, so I took a look at the Marigold website which has a section on this. I have pasted it below because i think that's only fair :)MARIGOLD Health Foods website:What is Hydrolysed Vegetable Protein and does it contain MSG ?The HVP (Hydrolysed Vegetable Protein) used in Marigold Vegetable Bouillon does not contain any MSG. The HVP contains only naturally contained glutamates that are derived from the raw materials used to make the HVP, namely soya and maize. Soya and maize are made up of fats, fibres, moisture, carbohydrates, proteins etc. The proteins in wheat and maize are composed of amino acids such as leucine, phenylalanine and glutamic acid commonly found in food. Thus, the naturally occurring glutamates in HVP are derived from the naturally occurring glutamic acids in soya and maize protein. The glutamates present in the HVP are not present in a concentrated form like MSG. They are naturally present in proportion to the other naturally occurring amino acids in the HVP. And because the glutamates have not been added to the HVP artificially but are naturally occurring, no declaration has ever been required other than that of HVP. Besides, glutamate is an essential and vital constituent of the human body and occurs naturally in many foods such as the following:Peas • Potatoes • Tomato Juice • Grape Juice • Cheese • Mother's MilkThe quantity of natural glutamate in an 8fl oz serving of Marigold Vegetable Bouillon, at a dilution of 18g per 1 litre, is equivalent to the amount of naturally occurring glutamate in: 5g of cheddar, 10g of Parmesan, a mediuim sized potato or a small glass of tomato or grape juice.Indeed, one of the highest concentrations of naturally occurring glutamate is to be found in mother's milk!
