High quality.
Well made, heavier than a wind breaker and water proof. Secure zip pockets and adjustable sleeves to keep you dry. Price is reasonable. Good buy all around.

True to Size
Jacket was true to size for my husband. I originally bought a size up based on some reviewers' comments and because he intended to wear a quarter zip underneath. That jacket was was definitely too large overall. Returned it and got his usual size and this one fits perfectly! We like the weight and based on the "tap water" test it seems quite waterproof. I bought the women's version for myself and it also fits well. We'll definitely pack these on future trips!

Runs small, but effective in light rain
Pros: I have worn it now for a few hours at a time several days in light rain and twice for maybe 1/2 hour in a heavy downpour and stayed completely dry. I love the way you can adjust the hood to fit your head so that it doesn't block your side view, the draw cord on the back of the hood is a great feature for that. I also love how lightweight the jacket is, perfect for mild spring and fall weather temperatures. It will not keep you warm in cold winter temperatures, but I don't think it is meant for that.Cons: It runs small as in a little tight in the shoulders and I ordered a size up from what I normally wear, so I took away one star for that. If you are going to layer clothing underneath you might want to order two sizes up from what you would normally wear, although the arm length might be an issue there. I think having the inside and outside breast pockets on the same side, one behind the other, is a bad design flaw because if you have a cell phone in one and anything heavier than a small note pad in the other it feels awkward and uncomfortable, weighs down the jacket to one side. I only put lightweight stuff like a note pad/pen, Kleenex tissue pack, etc. in those pockets so not an issue for me. Overall I think the jacket is a good buy for the price and I would not hesitate to buy again.

Great waterproof windbreaker
I purchased the Outdoor Ventures packable rain jacket for a trip to Iceland I took in November. Iceland is windy and many of the big attractions are waterfalls, so a waterproof outer layer is essential. This windbreaker worked great. No matter how much spray and mist there was, I always remained dry. This windbreaker has more insulating capability than a typical spring/fall windbreaker, but with colder weather, layers must be worn below this jacket to provide warmth (as expected, the November weather in Iceland was in the 20's with wind often making it feel like the low teens). Also, there are a lot of zippered pockets to keep contents from getting wet.

Good value
Was looking for a reasonably-priced shell to wear on runs in inclement (but not freezing) weather. This seemed light (a requirement) and the price was definitely within my budget. I was surprised to discover how well-made it is. The fit is good (5’ 10”. 150# so I got the medium size). The seams are all sealed and the jacket itself breathes well. Wasn’t crazy about the main zipper: it is “sewn shut” such that even if you fully unzip the jacket, the two sides of the jacket are sewn together (thus, you put it on or take it off over your head no matter what). This becomes a pain when you DO unzip it fully; it’s hard to realign the zipper to zip it back up. So just be careful not to do this.Overall though, I really like this jacket. It looks good, packs easily, and launders well. Recommended.

Perfect Features
The pockets are great, it even has an internal, zippered pocket. What a surprise, this very low priced parka even has pit zips to keep you cooler during warm weather. I bought a larger size to have extra room for cold days when I need to wear a sweater or even a pullover with a hood. This parka's hood easily accommodates the extra hood on the pullover. It rolls up into itself and tucks into its own hood.Easiily stowed in my back pack! You can't go wrong with this parka!Gary S.

Way heavier than expected
It’s really thick for a “lightweight jacket”Bought this thing for a trip to Central America and wanted a light weight and packable jacket. It was way heavier that I expected. I returned it and went to REI and found what I needed
