Solid Shifter Without OEM Problems
I’ve been riding for years and some 150,000 miles and never thought about the need for a part like this. H-D pricing is way too high so I never saw the need. Until a 6,500 mile ride my wife and did and on the way home the heime joint broke. Although it’s only a $10.00 part, being on the side of the road and not being able to shift can be an issue. Just so happened, we were 1/4 mile for a H-D dealership who was opened on Sunday and within 10 minutes to change the part we were back on the road. After looking into the further I found many of my friends had the same issue while on the road. The solution is a different type shift linkage that does away with the weak heime joints. Compared to the H-D $100.00 part, this one at $19.00 was worth a try. The knuckle ball design with bolts take out the need for the weak joints that break. The solid one piece shaft makes a big difference in shifting too. Shifting is much more solid and direct compared to the OEM style linkage. If you ride a H-D I highly recommend replacing the faulting linkage with this. You can’t go wrong. I’m ordering another one for my other Harley.

Great value!!
Like a lot of other folks have said, you can’t beat this for the price. Out of the box, the chrome finish looks fantastic. We’ll see how it does over time, but I’ve got a good feeling about it.If you’re a Harley snob like me, spend 8 bucks on a pin, snap off the pin fasteners on the back of it, and use 3M double sided foam mounting tape to put it on the linkage. Viola! (See pic) looks nicer than the hundred dollar HD one!!

Perfect fit on 2017 Road Glide
Fairly easy install. The instructions are useless, so you pretty much have to figure it out for yourself. Only 2 bolts to get the old linkage off, then unthread the ends of the new linkage till the holes line up with the old bolts. Put the rear bolt in first, hand-tight, then make sure the front is exactly the right length, the bolt should fit straight through. Adjust as needed. Thread the front nut on hand-tight. Shift up/down a couple of times to make sure it's right. On my 2017 Road Glide, I had to thread the middle part back a few turns, so the nut would not hit the front shift linkage. Straighten out the middle piece, and tighten down the bolts on the ends. Lastly, tighten the 2 bolts holding the linkage on. It should shift easily, same feel as the old bar.It looks 100% better than the stock piece, and it seems about the same quality as the $100+ pieces I've seen at the dealer, and trade-shows. I'll have to see how it ages over time, but VERY happy with the purchase.

Nice finish and quality
I have a 2006 Ultra Classic and my OEM linkage failed on my 200 mile weekend ride. Lucky for me, I was about 4 miles from home and had only one traffic light that I had to stop at. I almost ordered this linkage in the all chrome finish, but after seeing a photo of this one, the black with chrome stripes really does look great on my bike. This is a fairly straight forward install but I did install the front portion of the linkage to the outer side of the shaft (as was the original linkage), the instructions had it placed to the inside but that did not provide sufficient clearance to the valve head. Happy with the results and would order again - but I think the quality will outlast my ownership :-)

Excellent quality, worth every penny
Purchased this shifter linkage for my 2020 RGS. It goes well with the other pieces that came stock with the bike. I don’t know why Harley doesn’t just put this linkage on at the factory, it really sets off the left side of the motor and looks so factory, it’s a know brainer.I had a buddy buy one at the dealership, looks just like it and he paid almost 3 times as much. The dealership installed it for him (took my 3 minutes to do my own) and he had issues with it from day one. After a couple of weeks, I took a look at it for him and found they didn’t tighten it down properly.Anyway, this is a great buy, excellent OEM type quality and in my opinion, seriously a no brainer!

Wick and easy install
Great improvement over the stock HD shifter rod and it looks good on my 2014 Street Glide, only tip for you is to not forget the red thread locker! Took me about 10 minutes to remove the old one and put on the new one, just run out the adjustable ends to match the original length and lock down the nuts and install.

Looks great and fits well (if installed correctly :-))
Arrived in a day and looked great - just as expected. When installing it on my 2006 Road King Classic (88 inch motor) I had to place the front end of the shifter rod in front of the shifter lever (contrary to the instruction) to avoid the head of the cap screw to hit the engine block. When doing so everything worked perfectly. So perfect marks for the item but average mark for the instruction.

Absolutely Outstanding!!!
This item arrived on schedule and without damage. After reading some of the other reviews, I inspected the item for deficiencies and beading chrome. There were none. The item looked absolutely flawless from end to end, and the initial quality, well worth the money. If you are mechanically inclined installation will be a breeze. If you are not, but take your time you should be able to still manage a good installation. I used my original factory shift rod as a scale and adjusted both ends to fit my 2010 Harley Davidson, Classic, Electra Glide. I highly recommend this product.

Chinese crap! Stay away.
Poor quality! I will never install this on my Harley even if it was free. Not even chromed, you can see the machining all over the surface. The transmission shifter cover is made of trash can metal. I took a picture beside my chrome fuel cap to show the difference with finish. Do yourself a favor and buy the original one from Harley. I would give it 0/5
