71000 Odors Away Dropper Bottle 1/2 oz. - Original

My parents used this when I was growing up and I purchased it last year when we bought a lake house. It works great but $25 a bottle is too much. That’s not what I paid just a year ago.

This stuff is amazing. One bedroom that shares a wall with our front porch was continually getting skunked by a skunk living underneath said porch. It was unbearable for the occupant and we looked at all kinds of solutions (that of course would not hurt the skunk). Odors Away was so reasonably priced that I felt I could buy/try it with only a few dollars risk. We followed the directions putting a couple drops in a small bowl and the change was nearly immediate. Since it is mating season for skunks the smell has been extremely intense but Odors Away made quick work of the stink and we just put fresh drops out if the smell returns. Easy and humane!

My sister remembered Mum using this in the basement. Tacked it down here to try. Not only is the clove-like smell pleasant, but it does seem to counter mustiness. Only wish it came in larger sizes for the cost.

This works really well. I've used it in several rooms and it does eliminate the odor (at least until you can thoroughly clean/dry whatever the culprit is). There is one odd thing about it, though. This may sound weird, but I can't be in the same room with it for long or it affects my taste buds. Suddenly, everything has a sour twang to it. Even if I just lick my lips, there's that odd sour taste. Oh, I can enter and exit a room with no effect, but if I stay in a room with a little saucer holding a few drops... nah, that ain't gonna work. I know -- weird, right? I am sensitive to fragrances and many soaps, so maybe it's just me. Still, I'll keep using it when I need it. Good product.

This is great for removing horrible odor

Put a few drops on a cotton ball vacuum it up and your vacuum will not smell like dogs. If you want to know what your house smells like turn on your vacuum. I got this and did a thorough clean on my vacuum and then did the cotton ball thing and wow—my vacuum no longer stinks. I also placed these cotton balls with a few drops all around and I can tell the difference. I will buy again

We live in a 20-year-old home with a wood-burning fireplace, and we are heavy fireplace users - during the fall and winter, we use our fireplace 5-6 times a week. I love a good fire. The downside? As soon as the temperature goes over 60 degrees, or if the weather is moist and conditions are right, our family room becomes almost unbearable with the strong soot and fireplace smell. I have closed the flue, tried baking soda, charcoal, deodorizing beads, you name it...and nothing worked. I bought this with low expectations, since nothing I had tried had worked so far. As directed, I put 5-6 drops of oil on a cotton ball and placed it behind a candle in the tray I put in the fireplace during the warmer months. Within two hours, the smell was gone. I couldn't believe it. I kept leaving the room and returning, thinking that perhaps I had simply lost my ability to smell it, we've had the fireplace stench for so long. No, it worked. I will say, however, that after a few days it loses its efficacy, so I simply add 5-6 more drops to the cotton ball, or change it out with a new one. I'm guessing our fireplace odor must be much stronger than the reviewer who stated that their bottle will last a lifetime. :-) I hadn't thought to use it in the bathroom...I am a strong believer in PooPourri...but that is another review. The idea of putting the drops in a glass shaker from another reviewer is great. Another idea: put drops in actual dried potpourri, or in a small decorative crystal bowl, out of reach of children. I rarely write reviews, but when I come across a product that works so well, and actually does what it says it will...I just have to share. This solved a huge problem for me, and that is worth sharing.

If you remember a televised product called Super-CD that advertized '2 drops deodorize a skunk!', then this is an equivalent product. I had a 2-oz bottle of the Super-CD for years (and it was so powerful that I felt confident that 2 drops *would* deodorize a skunk), and finally ran out. I would use it to deodorize garbage cans on the infrequent occasion something or some animal (yes, there have been skunks!) left a particularly obnoxious odor, it worked very well; the product odor itself was rather distinctive and fairly pleasant. This product seems to have a similar odor (also fairly pleasant, smells like an aromatic oil not citrus), and seems to work as effectively, I imagine both products are derived from the same active ingredients. I also put a drop on my garage/workshop floor about twice a year just to clear out musty odors there. This product seems very similar to Nilodor Tap-A-Drop (also sold on Amazon), these appear to be about the same, both are very effective with this one being perhaps just a bit more powerful.
