Good replacement for damaged parts, not a great canister on its own
De'Longhi DLSC305 Ground Coffee Canister, 6 ounceThis coffee canister is basic but decent. It’s primarily for a replacement for some models of De’Longhi coffee grinders. As for use just as a regular coffee canister – good, but not ideal. It’s small and good for a small amount of ground coffee. The canister comes with a few labels and even some blank labels for you to write on. It’s easy to open and close the flap up top and the opening is large enough to dip a tablespoon measure or small scoop in. The canister does not come with a scoop or anything.Even though it’s decent, it’s small and would not be ideal for someone who needs to store a larger amount of coffee. I also couldn’t find any definitive advertising that this canister is airtight, which makes me believe it isn’t. This will make it so that coffee left in it for longer periods of time will go stale.Overall, it’s decent. I wouldn’t recommend it as a coffee canister on its own but if you need a replacement for your grinder it will do the job.

Okay, but not the best canister for my needs...
It’s tempting to keep coffee in a larger container. It’s more convenient to grind a lot at a time, clean up the mess & not have to mess with it for quite a while. But the trade-off, of course, is coffee that isn’t quite as good as you know it can be.I decided that this might be a better choice & since I’m the only regular coffee drinker in my household, the smaller size would work fine. And it is quite small. It holds 6 oz. when filled to the “max” line. I think it’s because this is supposed to be used with a De'Longhi coffee grinder but I didn’t know that. I just wanted something to put my fresh ground coffee in so I fill it much higher with no adverse effects. What I don’t like about this canister is that I couldn’t get it open when I first got it. It’s one that snaps in when the lid is turned. When the lid is locked in I can’t open it. My husband opened it for me & now I just don’t close it all the way since I still can’t open it by myself. It’s 3¼” wide x 4¼” high & I have arthritis in my thumbs so getting my hands across the lid & twisting it is quite painful. That means that the canister isn’t sealed tightly, which I don’t think it was even when it was locked in, so the coffee isn’t as fresh. And that’s why it’s good this canister is so small. There’s a rubber stopper on the lid & it can be opened to scoop coffee out that way. I use a teaspoon to scoop into my refillable Keurig pods & it’s an okay size but could be a little bigger if using it that way. It’s much easier & less messy to remove the lid & scoop it out. It’s lightweight & made of hard plastic with the metal lid. It comes with several labels that I probably won’t use. I try new coffees regularly & a permanent label won’t be accurate most of the time. I think if the labels were erasable, like chalkboard labels, they’d be more practical. I have some for other canisters so if I feel I ever need to label them, those are the ones I’ll use.To summarize, I like that it won’t take a lot of room on the counter, it’ll keep coffee fresher since only small quantities will be ground at a time & the container isn’t as fragile as glass.I don’t like that it locks in tightly & hurts my hands to try to open it, it still doesn’t keep the grounds airtight, the rubber stopper on top really isn’t large enough to scoop coffee from so the lid has to be opened anyway & that the labels aren’t practical.

Fits My Dedica Burr Grinder, But Can Hold Any Grounds
This De'Longhi coffee canister is meant to be used with the company's Dedica (and perhaps other) burr grinder to catch ground coffee as it falls from the grinder; it's the same canister that came with mine. It fits into the machine to catch the grounds, but that doesn't mean that you need a De'Longhi grinder to use it. You can fill it with grounds from any grinder or bag of pre-ground coffee. The bin is a smoke-gray plastic. The top is a combination of plastic, stainless, and a rubber stopper. If you have a Dedica, that stopper needs to be rotated to the side so that the canister both fits into the machine and is open to catch the grounds. Whether you use it with a burr grinder or simply as a canister, the rubber stopper can be rotated into place to plug the top hole to keep the grounds sealed. The hole is large enough to insert a coffee scoop. This comes with sticker labels to indicate the kind of coffee inside, although I find that useless since I often try new kinds of coffee. I don't want to have to soak to remove a sticker, just so I can put on a new one. My main use for this extra canister is to use with the Dedica while I clean the other, or to hold decaf while the other holds regular.I love that I now have a spare canister to go with my Dedica burr grinder. As a coffee canister, this is a compact way to store a limited amount of ground coffee.-- Debbie Lee Wesselmann
