Great for performance engines.
I use this in a hot rod with 550hp and works great. The viscosity stays the same whether hot or cold and that is the big advantage with synthetic motor oil. It also contains more of the additives needed by high performance engines for long camshaft life. Also with the slipperyness of synthetic motor oil, there is a performance gain. I have been using Mobil 1 for years in all my cars and trucks.

Best Oil
Great oil, have used this brand since my Grandpa started using back in the 60's, he ran an auto shop. My family farms and used use coop oil and have to rebuild tractor Motors near every year. Grandpa started them on Mobil oil and they never had to rebuild engines for many thousand hours.

Happy Customer
My 2000 Corvette runs like a top with this oil. I have over 260 thousand miles on the original motor and will continue usage of Mobil 1 94002 15W-50 Synthetic Motor Oil.

High zinc and phosphorous!
I use this stuff in my cars that still have pushrod motors in them. Has a very high advertised ppm of phosphorous and zinc and that's why I use it. I was initially hesitant using it because of it's synthetic build, but none of my engines burn it, or leak it externally out from either of the seals or gaskets. It might have to do with it's near maple syrup viscosity, but so far so good. I monitor the oil fill level about 10 to 15 hrs of engine run time. I'll report back if any of my motors start burning or leaking it out.

Hard to find Mobil 1 multiviscosity synthetic with 50w summer rating
When did we get addicted to synthetic oil? I forget. Used to pay about a buck a quart for Castrol when it was on sale. Now its 10 bucks for lab made oil. Ok, it lasts longer and stuff slides better and doesnt smoke when it gets hot, yada, yada. For certain cars, such as my Bavarian Oil Burner, they have nasty oil sipping habits like oh, lets say leaking valve seals on their V8s which I can either pay 10 grand to fix or I can run this stuff.
