It's intimidating to make such intricate looking desserts but the book has pictures in it and tips.

Lots of great information for people who want to learn to bake.

I returned this book. I didn’t like the fact there were so many recipes for marzaipan cookies! I hate anything with marzaipan! Also, you had to convert European measurements to what we use in the USA.

This IS the cookbook of my dreams.Duchess Bake Shop has all my favorite aspects of Bouchon Bakery, Patisserie at Home and Laduree Sucre mixed together into one lovely volume: nicely sized, lots of step-by-step pictures, and BEAUTIFULLY styled photos of the finished bake (there are pictures of everything, and multiples for most recipes). I cannot wait to jump into chapters on macarons, croissants & danishes, brioche and choux pastry. There are others on cakes, tarts, cookies, tea time and more.There is the most wonderful mix of recipes: Maple-Brulee Marshmallow Macarons, Pear Cream Cheese Danishes, Brioche Pepin, Madeleines, Rosemary Chocolate Fleur De Sel Cookies, Farmer's Saskatoon Pie, Buttertarts, The Duchess cake (Swedish Princess Cake), and Rhubarb crumb eclairs. That'd be enough to make me happy with this book, but there are so many more! All of these recipes contain ingredients that can be found in grocery stores but create such awe-inspiring classic, and classic with a twist, treats.I have so many baking cookbooks, but this one may well be my new favorite. Duchess Bake Shop is already a keeper: it contains all the recipes I want, formatted in the most eye-catching and user-friendly way.

Have only used it for 1 recipe so far but paging thru the entire book I am looking forward to trying out more

This book was recommended by a caterer I know who grew up in Edmonton and knows the shop well. It is her bible for baking and her sweets are yummy. It lived up to her praise. Lots of great recipes along with the kind of specific suggestions and inside knowledge that it gave me confidence to try things I would normally find daunting. Alison

If you love to bake get this book!! I LOOOVE it and everything I made from this book has turned out AMAZING! There are loads of tips and tricks, and lots of photos to walk you through harder recipes. I would highly recommend!

Such a great book! I love it. Very thorough explanations. One thing I hate about the book - yellow font... How did they come up with yellow font colour (I guess it was supposed to look golden), it is really hard on your eyes.

This book is beautiful. Well written, well laid out, great hints for perfect results! I am working my way through it!

Beautiful cookbook. Lots of pictures and detailed instructions. Most recipes are quite involved, but after what I’ve had at the bakery itself I am very excited to be able to try making some of the products at home!
