Great low budget lightweight knife
First off I haven't had any issues closing this knife like some of the other reviewers have. It opens and closes just fine for me. It reminds me of the Mercator knives in that it has a rolled steel handle. The frame lock engages nicely and stays put. The blade came sharp, and the bottle opener is an added bonus, just make sure you use it with the blade closed. The rolled steel body is sturdy and won't be flexing with use. The belt clip is also sturdy, I don't have any issues with it. If a nice, light weight, budget friendly knife is what you are looking for, this might just fit your needs.

Modernized Mercator/Douk-Douk Minimalist Frame lock work knife
Note: Not a Vine Voice related review. When I first entered the workforce, we carried Mercators. Plain lock-backs with folded sheet steel handles imported from Germany, designed as a low cost export, which seem to last just about forever under normal use. Most of us put a little "Flikit" thumb button on them back in the day. Years later, I was pleased to get an all stainless version from Otter and carry it as my EDC. I also discovered that there was a similar non-locking imported French knife the Douk-Douk, made since the 1920s. The Albatross FK050 is a modernized version of this style of knife incorporating a frame lock mechanism and screw fasteners rather than rivets. The back spacer is polymer, just like on the Mercator, and the thumb studs are already permanently installed. The handle is about the same thickness (although I should say thinness in a positive way) as the old school sheet steel handles. The blade locks positively with no blade movement in the locked position. The lock is also easily disengaged by pushing it to the side. A nice full bellied drop point blade that should be great for work tasks and food prep on the fly. A great all around pocket knife that is a fitting tribute to some of the best minimalist designs of the past, it will serve well when used as intended.Update:After carrying for a month, I have a few observations:-The knife is still holding its edge well.-Lock is positive in all directions. No wobble.-Cap lifter is one of the better ones I have used, as it it accessed when the blade is closed. Btw, for safety's sake, it should only be used when the blade is closed (some friends will need to be advised on this point).-The pocket clip is reversible, it takes a T-6 Torx. The blade pivot is T-9, the two others are T7.-The knife comes with a little nylon pouch. It is best to use this or an appropriate slip if carried loose in the pocket (to avoid accidentally hooking the cap lifter). Personally, I carry it using the pocket clip with the cap lifter secured against the back of the pocket.

Albatross FK050
I like thinner profile knives because they're lighter and more comfortable to carry, but sometimes not as strong, this knife is the exception as far as strength is concerned. Before I bought it I noticed the handle was actually one-piece rolled steel instead of the typical two-piece scales. I was very surprised when I received the knife to see it was actually a well rolled steel handle and not at all flimsy. The stonewashed finish is also done really well. Having the bottle opener on the blade was a bonus. Another selling point was the fact that they used a nice, deep carry pocket clip on this knife and it has good tension so I have no worries of it falling from my pocket. The one and only thing that I wasn't crazy about is the opening function of the blade, it's got a little too much tension on it to open smoothly with one hand. I found myself flipping it open only to have the blade stop halfway and my finger slip off the thumb stud and end up near the edge. I'm pretty sure I could loosen the blade tension, I may later, but for now I just open it using two hands and pulling the blade open. The blade itself is also surprisingly sharp. Overall for less than $11 this really is a great pocket knife and has found it's way into my EDC rotation. It honestly looks like a 30 or 40 dollar knife and functions quite well, I highly recommend it for everyday carry.

Useful Inexpensive Old School Folding Knife
It’s a decent knife that reminds me of the old French Douk Douk pocket knives (and the Cold Steel Bushman), where the handles are made from a single folded piece of sheet metal. It has a bottle opener as part of blade which makes it handy, but also makes it hard to put in and out of the included flimsy nylon & Velcro belt sheath. It also has a pocket clip so you can discard the flimsy sheath if you like. It’s a $10 knife made from mystery (420?) steel, and uses a basic frame lock to secure the blade when opened. At a $10 price point, this is a good inexpensive gift to give to your naughty friends who need an extra bottle opener.

Closing knife
The media could not be loaded. It’s a really good knife but having to close it it’s very hard. Anyone know how to? I watched the video over and over again and still nothing.

Good quality, doesn't close easily and piss poor instructions make it worse
I believe this knife is well put together with quality materials and is extremely sharp. That's all to the good, except for the fact that it's difficult figuring out how to close it and no matter how many times you watch the video, they don't make it at all clear. They do hold the knife in various positions and turn it over from one side to the other for some inexplicable reason, but it seems they value looking smooth over being practical. In the end I figured it out but not after cutting myself. The fact is you need to use two hands to close the knife. This is not demonstrated correctly in the video.

Best overall thin knife
Got this knife in 10/2024 still going strong. It’s very thin and lightweight tbh so more of cutting open cardboard boxes or gifts or maybe even clothes. Overall 9.5/10 for the price to quality ratio

Nice and simple
If your looking for a simple and slim knife this is a great option. I keep this in my edc bag and am very happy with how thin it is and comes really sharp. Just a sturdy little knife.
