I've had equipment that appears extremely durable, but it breaks down the one moment I really need it—especially cheap, knockoff Chinese goods. You folks that are into camping, survival, and prepping are aware of what I mean!My truck's tires are too big to fit a spare, so I got this package. This will at least be preferable than nothing, I reasoned. After a few years of having it on my truck, the mail girl one day rolls up to my house with a flat tire that had rubber all the way to the rim. On my rural road, her old, cheap tires developed a sizable puncture. Perfect opportunity, I thought, to try out this set! The hole was already bigger than the tool's diameter when I went to use the reamer! She still had a slow leak, but I fixed it with a plug and some air, so she could complete her route and come home safely! It was quite effective!That concludes my lengthy tale. The tool is genuine; unlike other inexpensive yet sturdy-looking tools, I was certain that the reamer's shaft would break or the handle would break off, but this one is VERY sturdy! This is such a welcome experience. I purchase items far too frequently, and they break quickly. The fact that the kit includes pliers, lubricant, a valve stem wrench, and other items is wonderful. Finally, the string is of excellent quality, albeit it did require some force to drive it in. It would have broken before being inserted into the tire if it was inexpensive! Perhaps you should carry a decent rubber mallet in your car.
