I got the BICYCGEAR Suspension Seatpost 27.2 for my old but very lightweight Specialized Rock Hopper mountain bike. This suspension seat post weights ~17oz while my original is only ~11oz. However the added shock absorption provided over potholes or reflectors in the road or bumps on the trail is worth the 6 extra ounces of weight.I didn't have to make any adjustments to the bottom of the seat post. I just removed my saddle and mounted to the new post. The new style saddle attachment has 2 smaller hex head bolts than a single big hex bolt which is easy enough to install and adjust. I can really feel the difference in a few jumps and hops even on a smooth surface as well as over some dips in the road. Much less pain on longer rides especially.New life to my old body and old bike.

(I don't have $200+ to spend on a seatpost)It appears to be well-made from 6061 aluminum and was extremely easy to install - they even included two Allen wrenches. It has an internal coil spring and rubber damper assembly and you can adjust the rebound force using the larger Allen wrench to turn the bottom screw in or out. You can definitely feel it working and there is about 1 1/2" of travel
