Words cannot describe its greatness…
Yep! The Games of Enemies and Allies was hands down! 110%! Oh so worth the wait!!! Not gonna lie, I’ve loved every.single.book.in.the.Magiford.Universe….buuuuuuuuut…THIS! This little gem of a middle novel! May perhaps…possibly…be my absolute favorite! It’s sweet and savory! Fun and flirtatious! Mysterious and magic filled! Swoony and light! Completely hilarious and whimsical! All the while being filled with the quintessential amount of battles! Injuries! Near death experiences! Hatred, desperation, and HOPE!AND OH THAT ENDING!!!!!I CANNOT WAIT TO ESCAPE INTO WHAT LIES AHEAD FOR JADE AND CONSIDINE!What happened? You ask?Well you will just have to read this fantastic series about a Vampire Slayer—her Supernatural Task Force, a mysterious and conniving dragon shift, a wizard house with possible ulterior motives—and the ancient vampire who befriends her by day and stalks her by night. There are just so many fantabulous aspects to this book. The humor is definitely on point! Be it the crazy mish mash games of go fish…old maid…supernatural mayhem, Considine’s ability to thwart Killian Drake and his vampire minions—all the while poking fun at them, or the persistence he uses during his nightly excursions to try to persuade Jade into entertaining him as the slayer in the form of fights and battles, followed by her off handed let downs of “No…I’m working…” This book had myself, my 12 year old son, and my mom all rolling with laughter. (Yes! We pretty much buddy read it! And it was glorious!!! Glorious! I say! lol!)The sweet budding romance is written just perfectly! It was so fun to experience Jade and Connor experience all the little nudges of affection and growing feelings…all the while…attempting to avoid, lie, and deceive themselves. Their relationship is just so fun and sweet and made my heart so very happy. Then there are the many mysteries and mayhem. What the heck is going on with Gisila? Why is she so shady? What is her endgame? And then the Tellier wizard house and it’s anyone’s guise at what craziness is going on with them and their sentient house????I cannot wait to discover what Shea has in store for us in the Finale! So Yep! Go immerse yourself in the greatness that is the Magiford Universe! It’s awesome! And fantabulous! And you are never going to want to leave!NOW WHAT AM I GOING TO DO WITH MYSELF UNTIL APRIL?! *cries a little…okay okay…a lot…* THE STRUGGLE IS REAL!!!

Amazing
I don’t know how KM Shea does it, but this book was every bit as amazing as the first one! I absolutely love the characters, both Jade and Considine, as well as Sunshine, Tetiana, Grove and the rest of the gang. The story is fantastic, and I really enjoyed the humor and friendships. Having the Drake family and Killian make appearances is awesome, and that ending! I did not expect it, but can’t wait to see how it all plays out! This is a clean book, and I wholeheartedly recommend this book, and every book written by KM Shea.

Good book, bad romance
What could be more romantic than unwanted physical affection? Almost anything. Great story, great characters, terrible romance. Kill it with fire.

Fascinating story
I loved this book in the series. I disliked that it ended with the main character in a state of surprise, but it did !)oe for that with another book. I like that a completely unexpected storyline of two main characters is told. It has a significant amount of humor to the story.

Good
Jade and the Magic Defense team have their hands full again:First the Tellus wizards seem to be on an unusual heroic streak, then there is the suspicious dragon shifter Gisilia still hanging around. And of course, who could forget Ruin, the elder vampire Jade just knows is up to no good?Book two picks up a few days after book one, occurring roughly around the time of Chloe’s tales.Jade is an adorably shy vampire slayer, with social anxiety- body language and social cues are just not her forte! Her skill set is impressive, even if she is completely confused by the way the rest of the world works.Considine is an elder vampire with a bit of a mischievous or possibly malicious streak. His actions around Jade make no sense to him, and yet he finds himself drawn to her. His own abilities are terrifying, yet he hides them from Jade as he plays with her (a little like a cat playing with a toy).Put these two together, and you have just a little mayhem, while there are definitely darker forces and plots going on in the background. It’s an engrossing tale, with fascinating characters and their questionable motivations. Although it’s part of the Magiford world, it’s set apart from Hazel, Leia and Chloe’s series, while still affording us a glimpse of them every now and then; so while you can read it as a standalone, it’s probably best not to.This is an excellent series for the urban fantasy fans out there, and is sure to keep you guessing even as the reader finds themselves gobbling the book down.

action packed return to the Curia cloisters task force
This is the second book in a 3 book mini series set within a larger literary series where supernaturals live more or less among vanilla humans. Can Jade and Connor continue to deepen their connection while they discover so much more about each other? Pros: fun, action packed, wholesome, light romance. The author even managed to avoid any major cliffhangers at the end of this second book of 3. Cons: maybe a bit too lighthearted? There are real issues as well as deep fictional issues that are only metaphorically applicable to the real world. Social anxiety is kind of a theme for the leading lady of this book but… in a VERY upbeat way. However, I enjoy the fluffy lighthearted tone of this author’s books, and as someone who deals with anxiety of my own, the lightheartedness isn’t off-putting. The ways Jade tries to connect with others despite her struggles are good ideas, and maybe I should try some of them! It’s kind of nice to have a book series about supernaturals that doesn’t have to be hyper realistic or dark-and-heavy (unless you’re talking about the results of Jade’s attempts at baking her family’s recipes). I would say it’s a good read for any age, though some adult readers may find it especially fluffy.

K. M. Shea
I thoroughly enjoyed this book. The characters are interesting and have different quirks. I enjoy the romance of the main characters who should be enemies. I recommend this to anyone who enjoys fantasy.

I have loved every single book in the Magiford series and this one is the same. A funny but clever storyline that shows the exceptional life of a pair of protagonists. Can‘t wait to read more

Magic, Mayhem and a Vampire Slayer Befriending Vampires
Its not often that the second book eclipses the first in a series but this does. And the first book was very good. K M Shea writes an excellent story that is full on action, investigations and brilliant characters. Jade O'Neil, a vampire slayer who has left the comfort of her family of vampire slayers to move to Magiford to choose a career about protection rather than killing. So she ends up as a reluctant team leader for theCuria Cloisters supernatural defence team. The teams are made up of vampires, werewolves, fae and wizards, and patrol the streets to protect humans and supernaturals from each other. What is charming is the character traits Shea invests in each of the characters; Jade's self-consciousness of her dire social skills as opposed to her unparalleled fighting skills. It is as hilarious as her baking attempts. Jade attracts the attention of Ruin, one of the older vampires who is 'holidaying' in Magiford while trying to avoid his 'charges' - vampire families left for him to reluctantly watch over. That too is very amusing as his form of caring for them scares the bejesus out of them all - except for Killian Drake. This is fast paced, with a wonderful cast of characters and humour and has nail-biting at the fighting scenes. You come to be so invested in Jade and her team, you are drawn in. The team has two main investigations going that get Jade's senses tingling. A suspicious amount of trouble that may or may not have to do with the new dragon shifter in town and the dubious dangerous incidents that are becoming frequent and pose danger to the humans. The twin plot lines along with Jade, her neighbour Connor, and Ruin, all have secrets that none of them want to share but are becoming increasingly difficult to hide. This is a well written, very funny and an easy to read novel. A real treat to the senses.

Ooooh
I was hooked by the first book and eagerly awaited the 2nd book. Downloaded and read it as soon as it was released. Loved the suspense unfolding as Jade realizes who Connor actually is. Now awaiting the release of the 3rd book. Also could the writer please make the other characters more stronger and include more dialogues for them? Thanks
