Amazing Replacement for Pads/Tampons
HOLY COW. I did not expect a lot of out these things. Honestly, I hoped for the best, but was about 98.3% sure that I'd end up regretting this purchase. For the first time in my life, I'm happy to say I WAS WRONG.I'd been contemplating buying Thinx underwear for a while. I know no one personally who's tried them and so I was really on the fence about it for a long time. They're $30-$40+/- PER PAIR, folks. That's one hell of a commitment. So, I figured I'd try out my handy-dandy oh-so-loved Amazon and see what they had to offer. After sifting through several other "period underwear", this was the only one that actually said it could be used as a REPLACEMENT for pads/tampons (all others were as 'backup protection from leaks'. The reviews were pretty good, too, so after reading a bit to make sure of the fit and size I should order, I took the plunge. I'm 5'8" and weigh about 105-110 lbs; I typically wear a size 2/small. I ordered a Small and was amazed at how well they fit. They came in a plain plastic bag inside of a padded Amazon shipping bag. No weird manufacturing smell or anything like that. They're super soft and did I mention how well they fit? The waist comes up just high enough to cover my hip bones, but is soft enough to not press on an already-abused abdomen; they cover my cheeks and don't slip around throughout the day, either. I mean, they're even still a little sexy but in a completely innocent/practical way. There isn't a weird plastic-y feeling, but you can hear crinkling in the absorbent/leak-proof material as you're putting them on, but it's not enough to hear throughout your day. The coverage area is bigger than what I saw of Thinx on their website, too. The coverage goes all the way from the top of my pubic bone, down and around, all the way up to the waistband on the back. The underwear fit snugly, but not "tightly", don't move around, don't shift, and don't wear out to become loose and baggy towards the end of the day (or even through the night).I started my trial run of these bad boys on Day 2 of my period (which is the heaviest). I can usually go through a S+ tampon in about 4 hours on Day 2. After 6 hours of manual labor and a lot of intermittent standing/sitting, I felt like I was testing destiny if I left them on any longer. No need to worry, however. These things had plenty of fight left in them. I did change into a new pair, but then I wore that second pair through the evening, (unexpectedly) fell asleep in them and wore them through breakfast the next morning. Totally fine. Even through that early-morning "gush and rush" run to the bathroom after sitting up in bed. No leaks. My clothes and sheets were totally protected throughout all of this. And cleaning them? Not as bad as some might fear. There's no gross red clots or dark sludge. It's a pair of black panties that you rinse in the sink (or shower if it's that time of day for you). A little ruddy-brown water rinses away until it's clear, then hang them on the side of the sink/tub so they don't mildew while awaiting the washing machine. Easy Peasy Rice and Cheesey.I'll never go back to pads/tampons. Ever. Again.

Probably T.M.I. but a truly honest review-especially for female athletes
I'm a female athlete, an endurance runner and as of late a power lifter/strongman in training. Any female athlete can testify that training on your period is the pits. Tampons slip. Pads are wretched...just UGH! But if I wanted to continue training through my period I had to find an option that worked. So after shopping around and seeing many unaffordable options I found this product. I read through the reviews and thought hey lets give it a shot.My Findings:I measured my hips with a tape measure and purchased the size based on amazons recommended size chart. The fit was perfect for me. A girl who is a little "hippier" might want to size up, but I have skinny little European white girl butt and they were fine.Because I didn't want to compromise the product i followed the recommended washing instructions to a "T". So day two of my period, it is a heavy flow day and today was heavy squats at the gym..Perfect first time, test run. I wore the panties with no other hygiene aids, just the panty and my exercise spandex. You could barely see a pantyline. Other reviews mention "loud plastic noise" Not an issue during wear I found. The "noise" was equal to if i wore a maxi pad so no big deal. I was able to get my full work out in with no discomfort or unplanned bathroom breaks. Best of all, no smell, no leak through! My training session was an hour and 30 minutes long. So I come home, get ready to shower. In the panty I notice a significant amount of moisture in the crotch, probably combo blood and sweat. Since I'm not one to waste electricity or water- for prewash care I rinsed them in the sink of cold water, put Hydrogen peroxide on the crotch since it's a great blood/bacteria cleaner, then rinsed in cold water again. No smell while they are waiting in my delicates bin for the next full wash cycle. In Summary:They more than served the specific purpose in which I bought them for. I probably wouldn't trust them for all day protection or overnight protection without a tampon on heavy days. But for light days and workouts-WINNER!

Cup user, PCOS person, I like to give way too many details, great panties!
UPDATED November 2, 2020The design of these have changed, and so has the feel and fit. I bought more because, hey, a girl needs period protection, and underwear wears out over a few years, right?ANYWAY. These new ones are fine. I feel like they’re thicker, somehow... but the weird swish noise some people have pointed out seems to be gone now. The fit is FAR looser, so buy your actual size. I got XL and I wear a 14/16 women’s pant.Functionality is basically identical. No leaks, no worries, no shrinkage after washing. It’s so nice to never have a liner or pad to toss. Save the environment and save my laundry from leaks, win-win!***Original review December 2018:***These are fantastic. I ordered a little bigger based on other reviews, and I think I could have gotten away with my actual size, but they might have been tight in the leg holes (that sounds SO weird but whatever). I use a menstrual cup and these are my life changers so I don't have to use liners all day every day. I have PCOS so my period is ridiculously painful and my uterus loves producing so. much. detritus.ANYWAY. My cup isn't enough to hold all the fluid for more than two hours on a couple of my heaviest days, so I leak. These panties save my clothing and my peace of mind. They're comfortable. I've washed them, they're fine and keep their size well.
