Lemon balm is a very powerful herb! I originally bought it for my absinthe recipe and the flavor payout was fantastic. The color of the leaves were nice bright green.Melissa a.k.a. lemon balm has powerful anti-anxiety effects for me personally. I can compare it to taking an Ativan but without the nasty side effects.However, do you know that if you choose to use this for anxiety it can cause withdrawal symptoms! This is some thing that I have experienced a while back not knowingly. (Same for my husband) I recommend not taking this for longer than 3 to 5 days in a row. And just using as needed. For panic attacks or anxiety.Also, lemon balm is a great if you are having sexual issues due to anxiety or tension, or problems with your libido. lemon balm is definitely an herb that you would want to try. All I did was make a tea. I was able to temporarily push aside my anxiety due to death of a loved one and spend some quality time with my husband and be kind to myself.
