Made with CANOLA oil...
love the stuff and would have given it 5 stars if it had been made with olive, sunflower or grape-seed oil...but then it would've cost 3 times as much.the roland foods harrisa is not as "spicy" as others that i've tried and also not as salty. it does have a deep woodsy, savory and slightly smokey sweet flavor. think hickory and mesquite mixed.best to try a bit and adjust the salt to your liking. i add it to spaghetti sauce or stir-fry where the added sweetness of the sauce and the saltiness of the soy sauce is balanced by the harrisa.be careful though. it will permanently stain any light colored fabric.btw, CANOLA is an acronym for;CANadianOilLowAciditythere is no such thing as a "canola" plant. it's made from the rapeweed plant and due to the medications i take, gives me some really bad indigestion sometimes. like i said previously, if it had been made with olive, sunflower or grape-seed oil.

Mild but good
I did expect a bit more of "a punch" but anyhow, I can always add some cayenne. But, the taste was good and a nice addition to my chili. Wasn't crazy about the price though but anyhow, I did some googling and found out that you can freeze it so, I froze most of the can. Has to be a very low temp freezer setting as, for some reason, this stuff didn't freeze easily.

delicious
this is a very tasty spread. tasted it with a spoon to see if it would be too spicy for family. not a problem, it wasn't too spicy, but has alot of flavor. anxious to use in many different ways.

Good chili spread but doesn't taste like Harissa
I've had various Harissa brands which were all a little different but within the same realm. This Roland Harissa tastes nothing like any other Harissa I've ever had. As a chili spread it's still tasty, but if you're looking for authentic Harissa, you'll be disappointed.
