For the money, hands down one of the best
I've owned many guitars throughout my life, and this one is honestly one of my favorites. Having owned guitars that surpass this in price, I was surprised by the level of quality in this instrument. Been playing for years, and it's honestly a smooth playing guitar. Thing has a beautiful top on it, and a nice light body. Not very thick for a Les Paul shape, but I prefer it that way. Not into thick, heavy guitars. As far as pickups go, these are surprisingly bright and full sounding. Not an abundance of gain, but I like them. For stock pickups, they sound rather good. Anyways, I recommend it. If you're a beginner, or a seasoned player looking for an affordable but very nice guitar, then I say look no further. ESP LTD is one of the best in the business.

High Quality at Mid-Range Price
I am very impressed with the overall quality of this guitar for the price point. The finish is excellent. The back of the guitar has the same beautiful purple as the front. In reading other reviews the white binding is hit or miss but mine looks nearly flawless. The neck is smooth and has a good radius. Easy to slide up and down. If tuned properly and setup, there is no fret buzz. While others complained the strings not staying in tune, I tuned, bent every string at 9, 12 and 17th frets. Re-tuned and its been solid. I do this with every guitar that has new strings. While the pickups are not the most expensive, they do produce great tone. The neck pickup really sounds warm and has good sustain. Its personal preference but I recommend spending some time to adjust the string action, pickup and pole height. It will really take your sound to the next level. The split pickup knob (push/pull) is a nice feature for getting a different sound. I am now an ESP fan and look forward to getting a 1000 series in the future. But its hard to imagine replacing this one because it just sounds awesome. I would play small live performances with this axe.If you are playing at home, garage or jamming at a club you wont be disappointed.

Great guitar!
This is my first guitar, so I don't have a wealth of experience, but this is fantastic. I wanted to get something better than the Squier series Fenders or equivalent from another brand. If you're looking for a great playing, looking, and sounding guitar that's still a good value for your dollar this is it.Edit: I've now been playing this for 5 months and I'd say I'm more intermediate than beginner at this point, and OMG do I love this guitar! It's so much more than a starter instrument. I've since bought a Mexican Strat to compliment this and I go back and forth. The quality is the same(Mexican Fenders are more $) but I really like the way those humbuckers sound. If you're looking at this vs an Epiphone, you won't be disappointed. Btw, definitely made in Indonesia, not China.

Nice piece
Not a fan of item being shipped USPS although it did arrive in one piece. Pretty well packaged, and wrapped. Neck was straight, and intonation spot on after tuning. Did make a very slight truss rod adjustment to eliminate very minor fret buzz, and compensate a bit for drop tuning when i play certain material. Frets seem to be level. Plays awesome with a string change. Finish is excellent. Minor bubble up by the nut that you really have to look for, keeping an eye on it to make sure its not a developing crack. Stays in tune. Super nice guitar for the money. Great bang for the buck.

Gambling with Amazon Warehouse
I'd like to preface this review by saying the guitar is beautiful and fun to play for the few hours I had it. Nice tone, good action and pretty light in weight for an LP copy. Unfortunately...Buying open box/ returned items is always a bit of a crap shoot. This item was listed as "Like new" with the only descriptor that the box would be damaged. That's fine, the box isn't that important as long as it still protects the guitar in transit. However, what I got was far from new.Upon inspection, the front looked fine. Minor scratches, but hardly visible. But when I turned it over, if was bad. The back had a trail of dents leading to a deeper indentation that broke through the clear coat. Almost as if it hit the corner of something and slid down. The bottom was chipped and cracked with chunks of poly missing, exposing the wood. This damage didn't match the dents on the box so it didn't happen during shipping. Also there was a blonde hair stuck in one of the tuners...Not sure why Amazon would list this as "Like new" unless all they did was do a quick look at the front and packed it back up. Rather disappointed, but the return process was easy. So if you ever want to buy from Amazon warehouse, manage your expectations appropriately.
