hormonal acne CURE!!!
i am going to give a long winded explanation of my experience, but summary: if you’re a female and think your acne is caused by high androgens, BUY THIS!first of all i am 22 and female and have tried EVERYTHING when it comes to hormonal acne — dozens of prescription creams/washes, accutane, spironolactone, daily antibiotics, birth control, etc. and i never dreamed i would find a holistic cure to my acne like spearmint.my full backstory: birth control and spironolactone cleared my hormonal acne, but i found out i can’t take spironolactone because it messed up my period, and i didn’t want to be on the pill so i was at a loss. my skin was getting worse and worse, and was at it’s all time worst this past winter — cystic acne on my cheeks which i never experienced before, acne ALL over my forehead, just acne everywhere a new ones would come everyday. i didn’t want to see anyone and i felt so ugly.then i read this random website about drinking spearmint tea to decrease androgens in females (which are like male hormones thought to cause acne, etc) so i decided to try it — 3 cups/day — with literally zero expectations. within FIVE days my skin was the clearest it had been in months. i was sure i had found a miracle cure. but then, i missed my period and had stomach issues from the tea so i stopped drinking so much and my acne came back. i was DEVASTATED because i didn’t want to take any more prescriptions. in retrospect you’d probably be fine just drinking 1-2 cups per day but whatever.then i found these. these spearmint supplements SAVED my skin! i take them every other day, and they have almost completely cleared my acne. i feel like they help with inflammation and other hormonal issues too. i try to map out when i breakout during my cycle and take more then, but it really feels kind of fool proof. the supplements are 10x more effective at clearing my skin than the tea was, with no more stomach issues and i get my period completely normally! seriously — why don’t doctors tell you this???anyway if i can help just one girl who has suffered from acne for as long as she can remember, i will be so glad! i’ve already gotten on of my friends on the bandwagon and she also swears by spearmint now! seriously, if you’re about to give up hope — try this!

Pregnancy?
Started taking this to help increase estrogen and stop facial hair growth. Well, 2 months in I got pregnant with the same man I've been sleeping with on and off for 10 years. We never used protection either. Also, I quit drinking alcohol as well. I'm pretty sure these pills helped a decent amount. Anyways, 18w2d!

Oily skin MIRACLE!!
I stumbled across spearmint, specifically in tea and supplement forms, while I was reading about hair/nail/skin supplements. A number of times, spearmint was referenced as a DHT blocker, which is related to male-pattern baldness (not my problem). However, this was very interesting to me, as I have had EXTREMELY oily skin since my teens. I even put myself on Accutane for awhile (not recommended!). I wasn't aware that outside of Accutance there were any systemic medications or supplements to help minimize oil production. I never had severe acne, just very, very oily skin with moderate hormonal breakouts. Dermatologists were really no help at all-- dismissing my "aesthetic" concerns, writing prescriptions for topical treatments that didn't address the root cause, etc. On top of that, I'm a nurse, so I tend to be very skeptical about herbal supplements and "holistic" type treatments. If someone had told me that I could regulate my skin's oil production with spearmint, I would have listened politely while I waited to roll my eyes. This product has completely changed my mind and transformed my skin. It's incredible. Here's whats REALLY amazing: Taking it twice a day, I started seeing results on day 2. And no, it's not a placebo effect: I have waited at least 2 weeks to even start seeing similar results on Accutane. I can't believe I'm even comparing the two, but the results are essentially the same, without the peeling skin, cracked lips, and other side effects of Isotretinoin, not the least of which is possible liver damage. From dermadoctor.com, a brief explanation of how DHT affects oil production: "The true cause of oily skin lies in one's genetic makeup - an excess of a hormone called dihydrotestosterone (DHT). Too much of a good thing, this metabolite of testosterone, DHT is responsible for triggering sebaceous glands to produce sebum. Higher than normal levels of this androgenic hormone, or an increased sensitivity of the glands to normal levels of DHT can result in a virtual oil slick."At least one study (on women with PCOS) demonstrated and confirmed that spearmint has antiandrogen properties: [link to the study would be here if Amazon allowed me to post it]. I don't know the physiology of it; how it's blocked or bound or whatever. All I know is that it's proven, it makes sense, and it WORKS. For me to wake up in the morning and not have my face feel heavy (yes, actually heavy) and slick with oil is astonishing. As I write this, I've gone all day without blotting or washing, and I'm not oily. Not even a little... I'm bordering on being too dry, and that is nothing short of amazing.I wish I had known about this sooner. Dealing with excessively oily skin, a perpetually greasy face, and the breakouts and congested pores that go along with it can be very depressing. This is absolutely life changing for me! I hope others will at least give it a try... for the price, you really have nothing to lose.

Makes a difference, but not magic
I've been taking one capsule consistently for about a month now. I have hormone imbalances that have caused me to have hirsutism and it's a huge insecurity (as well as hassle!), so when I saw spearmint was supposed to help keep androgens down I figured there's no loss in something so simple. And I have to say I have noticed a difference since taking these pills! The hairs aren't growing quite as thick, and the speed that they regrow after plucking has slowed. Not exponentially, but enough to notice. I'm happy to have even this minor change for something as simple as taking an extra supplement. But please keep your expectations manageable. I see a lot of reviews saying this was either worthless or life saving and I just want to gently remind this likely won't be a magic solution, even though we all go in with that hope. I'm not sure if there would be a bigger difference taking these twice a day as I've seen many do--I honestly bought them on a whim as a trial--but I'll be happily endorsing them to others with similar issues to try.
