Works great, no problem overheating now in cockpit of plane

This product is a very lightweight piece of plastic that holds a small motor, batteries and two fans. That's it, no actual mount, no USB cable, nothing. It also adds a lot of thickness to your iPad mini, so some mounts might not work. There is no way to utilize the USB option for power while flying with it attached to a yoke mount, so batteries are the only viable option. The fans give off a teeny tiny speck of wind that is almost undetectable. This product shouldn't be more than $40. Unfortunately it's the only one on the market right now. I am debating whether to return it or not.

I have only used this for a few months and not every day, but so far it keeps my ipad mini cool outside in the heat while I collect data. Now my ipad does not overheat and turn off in the middle of my work.

The reason I bought it is because I have one for my iPad Air and it works great but obscured too many instruments. So I bought a mini and another mount. I fly in Southern California where temperatures can easily cause a temperature fault. This mount is high quality and really works! I recommend it for anyone flying with a mini.

The power connector is a micro-USB connector. If you plan to use a yoke mount in your airplane, you will have to use batteries because the micro-usb connector falls out when you move the controls. This unit needs a lighting connector. I tried to call the company to ask if they had a remedy for the problem. No one would even answer the phone.

I bought this directly from X-Naut earlier this month. I fly in Texas and have so far used it 4 times with a 50% failure rate with the iPad overheating twice despite me using USB power.I suggest you do not bother buying one of these, but buy a USB fan from Amazon and blow the airstream over the iPad. It will probably be more effective and much much cheaper. Very disappointed.

Awesome, just tried with my plane with full clear canopy, so my iPad used to get hot and stop working, now, a thing of the past :-)

$179 for a piece of plastic and no way to mount it? You’ve got to be kidding me.The advertised photos for the product show a mount. I assumed this was part of the unit. Now I have to buy a separate mount and I leave on my trip tomorrow. Outrageous and frustrating.Sending this back!
